late for evensong: This is the partially ruined abbey in my home town: a photograph mapped on to a plane with a complex alpha map to pick out the tracery and windows. With carefully positioned lighting I think it gives a fair illusion of depth and shadow.The church nave is lit by a large cuboid light. The silhouetted trees add to the sense of depth.
